Creating a NWN Wineskin wrapper from scratch based on NWN Wineskin v4 by doh123:

(this was needed because sound was not working except on the initial menu)

 

Download NWN Wineskin WRAP V5 

Download Wineskin Winery (aktualna verzia z linku dole funguje) moved it to Applications folder and run it

Choose Update option to update the Wrapper version to Wineskin-2.5.3

Add engine WS8Wine1.3.37

Create New Blank Wrapper named NeverwinterNights (I used no spaces because I found an online note that spaces in wrapper names can sometimes cause problems)

When window comes up asking if X11 could accept incoming communications click Accept

When window comes up about Gecko not being installed click Cancel

When Wrapper Creation Finished is displayed click View wrapper in Finder

Quit Wineskin Winery

 

Show Package Contents on ~/Applications/Wineskin/Neverwinter Nights.app

Navigate to drive_c/Program Files

Delete Common Files (empty anyway) and Internet Explorer folders

Copy NWN folder from Windows installation to the drive_c/Program Files folder

In Contents/Resources rename (or delete) system.reg, user.reg, and userdef.reg

Copy system.reg, user.reg, and userdef.reg from doh123's NWN v5 wrapper to Contents/Resources of the new wrapper

Copy Wineskin.icns from doh123's NWN v5 wrapper to Contents/Resources of the new wrapper, replacing the existing one

Edit nwn.ini with TextEdit adding the following two lines to the Display Options section:

Disable Intro Movies=1

SafeMovie=1

 

Rename the movies folder to movies-old (see Update in post above about this. The only way I found to keep the game from hanging was to rename the movies folder.)

 

Run Wineskin.app in the new wrapper and select Advanced

In Configuration tab:

- Set Windows EXE to /Program Files/NWN/nwn.exe (can also be set to nwmain.exe if you prefer)

- Set Menubar name to Neverwinter Nights (can be anything)

- Set Version to Kaldor Wineskin Port (can be anything)

In Options tab:

- uncheck Map User Mac OS X folders in wrapper

- check Confirm Quit if quitting wrapper directly

Click Done

 

I was then able to launch NeverwinterNights.app successfully.

Ak to fungujte tak tlieskam .. Skúsim to po dovolenke rozbehať na El Capitanovi ...

Nezabudni..dodrzuj verzie tych softwearov... wineskin ti pobezi a potom len staci pripravit wrapper zo starsej verzie enginu a premazat v nom tie subory prislusne v navode... me nwn nefungovalo ani pod wine, ale tym ze typek tvorca wineskinu ma nwn ako svoju top hru tak sa hecol a rozbehal to...jedine co ti nepojde su filmy, ale tie srat... Drzim palce...

 

Ak to pojde aspon dvom dalsim a aj na el capitanovi, tak by to mohlo ist STICKY a nezabudnite BODY REPUTACIE, lebo to je skutocny dovod preco to robim.

Pokial stale niekto chce connect cez mac a mat to funkcne, potrebuje niektore files, ktore uz asi nevisia na internete. Mam ich. NWN na macu nie je problem.
